Ras Logon Script

By dcooke ·
Since we upgraded our Ras server to windows 2000 it no longer runs logon scripts. Is there any way to get this 4.0 feature back. We are running Windows 2000 mixed mode. I have even tried hard coding into group policies with no luck.

Ras Logon Script

Hey...

Yes I ran into the same problems when we migrated as well. Ripped my hair out for weeks until I found the problem: This only happens on clients running as a p or m-node for NETBIOS. If you use a Microsoft DHCP server deselect option 46 and you will be able to run logon scripts. Microsoft has also fixed it in a sys file called netbt.sys. This is fixed in SP2 and should have this version number (5.0.2195.2103) If it doesn't, you can correct it on your DHCP server until you can runSP2.

Forgot to say that RAS is so slow that it uses cached account info to authenticate you, that is yet another reason why logon scripts don't work.
