Re-Partitioning using Partition Magic 8

By basque216 ·
I have a Sony notebook running Windows XP Professional with a network connection. My 15 gig hard drive is configured 5.63 in C:, with 8+ gigs on the partition. I bought PartitionMagic 8 and will attempt to use it to increase the C: partition. I get conflicting reports regarding the advisability of doing this and have been told to back up the disk, reformat, re-load the Operating System, programs and data. I have backed up, but would like to re-partition without going through the hassle of re-formating. Any advice? Al Aramburu, basque216@sbcglobal.net

Re-Partitioning using Partition Magic 8

My friend, when you have the data backed-up already, why do u worry..just go ahead and do the r&d I have seen this software working good in many cases barring a few bad incidences too.
But when u have nothing to loose, u can try that & make use of this one..and let us know how it worked.
And yes, I have seen you quite actively on techrepublic with many different querries, so would like to suggest one thing...give some weight to your querry - for someone to atleast look-into ur problem :)
Cheers

I have just used PartionMagic 8 after extensive backup of my files and making 2 recovery diskettes. I ran the program, increased the size of my C hard drive by 2 gigs and everything ran beautifully. I am very impressed. I did study the process, but it paid off.
