Reading and keeping email

by john . Updated 23 years, 11 months ago

I am based in the UK and use a UK ISP (ClaraNet). I was advised on subscribing that the ISP provides global roaming facilities. In fact it provides the facility only in parts of Europe! Later this year, I shall be going to the USA for 2 periods of about a month each. When I am there I want to be able to access my email and attachments, keeping all my sent and received email. If as seems likely, I have to use my browser (IE5.5) to access email my email will be deleted from the server as it is read. ClaraNet’s solution is to use their UK access number (an international call from the USA). This seems likely to cost an arm and a leg! Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can use my email client (Outlook 2000) to get my email so that I can store it on my laptop ….. as I used to when I was with Pipex …… at a reasonable cost?
