Receiving e-mail

Hi,

How is it possible to receive an e-mail from someone where the FROM recipient is the same as the TO recipient.
Some times I receive an e-mail for example: advertisments, from webshots, where the to and from fields would say webshots. And I would receive this e-mail even though my name is not in the to filed?
