Receiving mail simultaneously in two pcs

I will share some fuzzy info I am working on. Right now we have Lotus Notes for e:mail. It all sits on a WAN that connects our 10 sites. I have laptops that want to go to all 10 sites and get e:mail. Sounds like your question ... more or less.

When a user connects they change their IP address and gateway and reboot. This gets them on the WAN and they could ping (if they knew how) the Notes Server in the main office. I put the IP address and NAME of the Notes Server in their hosts file. When the Notes client is setup I enter the NAME of the Notes Server. There is no reason you couldn't use the IP address I suspect.

So once they get connectted their e:mail pops no matter where they are.

Good luck and enjoy!

Take a look at your DOMAIN structure. You will need a 2 way trust relationship between the 2 Domains for it to work, whether the boss dials in or connects using a NIC at diff locations.

I'll take a stab at this, but I'm missing some pieces. Assuming the domains are connected on the same WAN. Elimate his second mailbox and let him login and get mail from one server all the time. On the second server create a custom recipient forwarding mail to the 1st server. That way he can have an email address in each domain with mail all ending up in one mailbox. He can login to the PDC of his mailserver's domain from anywhere. If the two domains are not connected, or he has to login to theother domain, then you would not be able to access the other domain simutaneously, but you could possibly setup rules in each mailbox forwarding copies of mail through the internet to the other, but he would end up reading everything twice. Key missing element is whether your domains are connected and if he really needs to login to the other domain. Hope this gives you some ideas.
