I thought I had this problem licked but it reappeared today. I have tried stopping the internet mail service and deleting the queue.dat file. It seemed to work for a day and now I’m back to the original problem. I’m running Exchange 5.5 sp4 on NT4.0 sp6a. Recently I have started getting a few users sporadically receiving the same email over and over. Each user is getting it from a different sender, all from outside the company. There doesn’t seem to be a particular pattern. The user will recieve the email and reply to it, delete it, whatever, and then get it again an hour, 2 hours, a day later. Sometimes the user will get 20 or 30 copies of the same email. I have checked MS site, this site with no luck. Am also running Trend Micro on same box. The weirdest part is even though I am filtering some of these messages at the server through Trend Micro they still keep coming through, which leads me to believe that the problem is with my Exchange server. Any ideas?
