Recently used file list

By nratliff ·
How do I remove a single entry from the recently used file list in Word or Excel? I saw an article from Techrepublic a while back on how to do it but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the General tab.

Select or clear the Recently used file list check box.

When the Recently used file list check box is selected, you can specify the number of recently used files that appear on the File menu. If you select "0", they disappear on the fly.....but, that is all of them.

I don't see how you can delete just one entry on the list......

Depending on your OS, the folder you are looking for resides in your OS folder. Just run Find Files or Folders from the Start Menu. Look for the folder named 'Recent' ... In there are all the shortcuts to the recently used files. Delete the particular link you want removed, and you're good to go.
