Recording facility.

I've Windows 98 OS to my system. There is a software which is a part of the Windows OS. It is "Sound Recorder", the path is click on Start, then go to Programs, Accessories, Entertainment. I was able to capture the sound of the cassette played on to my tape recorder by connecting the headphones jack of the tape recorder to the mic part of the sound card of the system. Now the "Sound Recorder" which comes by default with the Windows OS can capture the sound to the extent of 1 min i.e., 60 sec.And the sound captured will be in the wave format.
Now I want to know whether is there any software which can capture the sound as the "Sound Recorder" does but to large extent so that I can caputre some of the info. recorded on to the cassette tomy system and later on burn it on to the CD as I've the CDRW to attached to my system.
