recover data

by Karpi In reply to recover data

Hello,

if you have formatted the hdd you _may be_ able to recover the data if you have the same partion-configuration, because formatting means: "writing a new fat and look if all sectors are healthy".
But it will be a awful task. You have to use a diskeditor and search for any sector with a file you want to recover, save this record to a file, combine this files to the file you want to recover. It is possible, that the files are splattered all over the hdd.

I think your'e friend had a recovery after an accidently deleted file in mind. In this case there is a fat-entry with the location of the deleted file.

I'm sorry. Are there no other backups?
