Go to this site, read the documentation, download, make a boot CD, boot your Linux computer from this CD, and get the root password.
Good Luck!!!

at the boot menu, pass the kernel the option init 1

single user mode, no login required

edit the /ect/password file and remove the root password so it's just a pair of single quotes ''

save the file and reboot.
enter root as username
hit enter key instead of a password at the password prompt
then run password and set a new password.

You can log in with single-user mode and create a new root password.
1. Reboot your computer (must work in front of the console).
2. When you see the boot: prompt, type "linux single" to enter single-user mode.
3. After entering into single user mode, type "passwd" to reset root password, then type "reboot" to restart the system.
