recovery disk

hi, ive just purchased a second user Advent pc, model 8725, with the recovery CD Rom, but it will not boot up even after i reset bios to boot from cd, i was just wandering if there is a floppy disk available to match the cd, just like ive seen some packard bell pc’s boot up
