Recovery problems

By caleb ·
A new customer comes to me, freaking out. Their old IT guy can't help them, so they dump this on me.

WinXP Pro workstation has NTI BackupNow 4. Scheduled backups look fine. Smarty-pants that they are, they installed a new patch to their customer management and billing software package. That screwed up, killing their database. They are now trying to recover their data from a backup, which has been reporting a correct backup. However, the last backup and each before it seem damaged.

So, NTI is unwilling to help in any way with recovery. A damaged backup file is nothing more than that. I can hear them shrug on the phone.

Is there any possible way to retreive ANY information from this backup file, to prevent the customer from re-entering 7000 invoices over the last year, and still lose all scheduling and misc others?
