Red Hat 7.0 Samba and an NT Domain?

By Geek2D ·
I have a RH7.0 PC that I want to connect to an NT Domain and/or a Novel Network so that I can print to networked printers and access files. Is there a client that will make this simple, being new to linux samba has proved to be very difficult. If that is my only option, were can I go to get step by step directions on installation and configuration?

Red Hat 7.0 Samba and an NT Domain?

Samba will allow access to network printers. So will HP's JetAdmin/WebAdmin. As for accessing NT files, I don't know of anything other than CIFS that will allow this (Samba uses CIFS). For configuration information and more on Samba you can go towww.samba.org and get the immediate information, but I suggest purchasing O'Reilly's "Using Samba". It should be available at your local bookstore chain - Barnes N' Noble, Borders, etc. It is fairly cheap and will cover all assets of Samba for nowand future usage.

Good luck.
