Redhat 6.1 problem starting with kde

By epsilonadmin ·
I installed Redhat 6.1 and when I start it up...it works up till the kde gui startup where it gives an error:
id "x" responding too fast - trying again in 5 minutes...something like that...then it just keeps trying over and over again. Any ideas?

I _think_ one of the 'device drivers' for the (I assume you are using XFree86) you have is incompatible with your PC's hardware. If you have not gone to the XFree site to get the most recent patches, I'd suggest that as the first step.

It sounds like you need to reconfigure your video card. You may try xconfigurator
