reference site evaluation questionnaire
Lockedby aref abdul-malik · about 21 years, 7 months ago
I am a member of an IT project team, and I was assigned for evaluating vendor’s reference sites. I am looking for an evaluation questionnaire and a checklist so I can send it to the reference sites that were given by the vendors. The questionnaire should concentrate on evaluating the response on the vendor support, software package (with detail), fulfillment of requirements, implementation of project etc…. I would like also to have some kind of weight age I can use in my evaluation.

Personally, I think it’s going to be better if you try to do some of this work yourself instead of trying to totally lean on something that already has been done.
In general I would suggest that you do a Kepner-Tregoe decision analysis. If you aren’t familiar with the approach, pick up the book “The New Rational Manager” by Charles Kepner and Benjamin Tregoe – basically you have a few items that are must haves, and if a vendor doesn’t meet those then they are eliminated. Then you have yourwants which you weight with a number. Basically you send your requirements out to the vendors and await their replies and then see how they rate according to the weights you’ve assigned. It’ll be easy to eliminate it down to a core group, and thenit will be necessary to have more in depth evaluation of those remaining.
It is a much bigger process than you think, and a prefabricated plan isn’t going to work for every circumstance. This is something you really have to do yourself.
Sorry, if you got an answer you didn’t want to hear. But it’s the truth as I see it.

Here are some examples of similar questionnaires used by other organizations. You may have to customize the questions to be specific for your situations, but these should provide some areas to consider.

You recieved what should (or could) have been very helpful and acceptable answers from two different people. You rejected the answers without comment or thanks for the effort others gave in an attempt to help you. If these answers were not close to what you were looking for, you should have left a comment stating such, and clairified exactly what it is you’re looking for. You are either very uncleas as to what it is you’re looking for, or you have no intention of accepting helpful answers left by your peers.
Here’s some sites that you really do need:
Beginner’s Guide to Good Manners:
http://www.ukindex.co.uk/begin8.html
Good Manners are Fun! (Grades 2-4, but should be helpful to you):
http://henson.austin.apple.com/edres/ellesson/elem-goodmanners.shtml
A Treatise on Good Manners and Good Breeding by Jonathan Swift:

I hope no one else wastes their time with your question. I know that I won’t waste any more of mine.
