Reformatting of c: drive

Hi all, I’m looking to reformat my c: drive so I can re-install win-98 onto it from scratch. Currently, my c: drive has a mix of win-95/98 on it and is having problems (.dll & maybe registry issues) due to trying to go from win-95 to 98 and back to95 again. I thought the best thing to do would be to reformat and reinstall. Any pointers on how to begin my reformatting of c:
Is it as easy as typing in format once I’m booted off of the startup disk?
