Registry cannot load the hive :

by Lusu In reply to Registry cannot load the ...

3 Possible causes:
1. The hard disk is inaccessiblle due to a corrupt driver.
2. The registry file is corrupt.
3. The security settings for the registry files have become corrupt somehow.

The only (semi-)guaranteed solution is to try a setup in repair mode, and if this fails a setup in upgrade mode (to import all settings, but you will lose the service pack, if any). If this works, reaply the service pack. If not, you will probably need to install a fresh system (I recommend in asparate directory) and start recovering the applications by reinstalling them in the same locations as the old ones (some of them recover the setiings).

Lusu.
