Registry issues

By Ravensnest ·
I have heard so much stuff about these reg cleaning software. I even talked to microsoft itself. Some say it is not needed. others-highly important. why can't windows just come out with one that does what windows needs? I sure don't know how to diagnose or treat the registry. So how do i know which product to get that will not destroy my pc? Like i have heard about so many of these registry cleaners will do. I need real, honest and proven suggestion for the most safe, working software that will clean and optimize my pc sithout making it a worthless pile of junk. Can anyone who has the real experience and knowledge of this please help me with the proper choice? and just for the record

None of them are 100% fool proof or safe...but...

... but, if you make sure to get one which gives you the option to NOT delete something, you maintain a little bit of control.

The key to using any of them is recognizing when they might be removing something that you don't want to remove right now. For example, if I am remoted into a field office system and I run Ccleaner on it, I want to make sure none of the files or registry entries that were created due to the remote session will be deleted while I'm still connected.

So, the moral of the story is that IF you're going to use any registry cleaner, you need to KNOW what you're doing.
