Relevant Software

By john.cb1 ·
Does anyone know of any software for the following:

1) Genealogy which lets me scan Birth and Marriage certificates into the software and then attach to the relevant person.

2) I am on broadband, but is there a program that lets me stop the download at a certain point and then continue the download from when i stopped it.

3) Which software is the best System Mechanic Pro or Nortons Cleansweep, as i need a program that cleans up the rubbish files and lets me speeds up windows.

4) A software that lets me plan my website(by drawings) and then helps me to build it.

2. Try Download Accelerator or Flashget, both will allow you to pause and resume downloads, but only if the site supports it.

1) Sorry, I don't know one way or the other.
3) I like Norton myself.
4) MS FrontPage is easy to use to make web pages, IMO.

1) I only know of Brotherskeeper but it can't directly import from the scanner. You may be able to use a scan to text software (ocr) then import through cut/paste.

3) System Mechanic is not only powerful for system tweeks but can do a far better job than Norton Cleansweep. Cyberscrub will actual do the best of cleaning out the crap.

4) Gallery 2.02 makes great image based webpages fast and simple. You supply the images and it does the rest. To Edit the webpages gallery produces for such things as adding documentation to images you can use Frontpage check out

where I built my site entirely with frontpage, gallery, and movie12.

rick
