Remote Command Server ( RCMD ) in the Resource Kit gives you command line access to a server - you can use the various command line utilities from the ResKit as well as all the standard command line options within NT. It installs as a network service component so it's always available.

Also, don't forget that you can point the standard utilities like Server Manager, Performance Monitor, etc., at a remote computer while running them on your workstation - these are not nearly the resource killers that PCAnywhere is ( although we still use PCAnywhere for a lot of remote desktop stuff that requires the GUI ).

RCMD is great for command line stuff, but if you would like a GUI tool also; I can recommend NetOp. It's efficent on bandwith, and even lets you turn off wallpaper to speed up screen redraws.

I use NT Terminal Server...can install has
upgrade or clean install. It uses a client
installation for the remote host. I log on to a server as if I were in front of it.
Just a suggestion.

Hi, I do not know if this will be of any help. We use a program called VNC. It is NOT text based. It runs like PC Anywhere, you will have full control of the server. The application fits onto a floppy and is freeware. The application needs to be installed on the server, a service installed, and password assigned. At this point, the client portion, the viewer, is used and you have access to the entire server.

Best of luck.
