Remote Control & Security

By speedyfingers ·
We're implementing a remote control tool that will allow our support teams to remotely view and control desktop PCs similar to pcAnywhere. However, a number of security concerns have arisen especially in those areas that work with sensitive data. I'm curious to know how other companies are using remote control products and addressing privacy/security in support scenarios. Should user intervention be required to grant access to the PC(respond to a dialog box for example)? Should support personnel be able to connect remotely off hours without the user's immediate knowledge to fix a problem? Thanks for your comments.
