Remote installation of software
I was wondering if anyone knew of a tool that would allow me to install software remotely.
Ie. I run an application and then would choose a machine for the software installation. I would then be presented with all the usual prompts except the software would be installed on the users machine and not my laptop.
I know that I can install things like VNC and PC Anywhere to be able to remotely view and install packages, but I really wanted to be able to just install software - so if I did need to install PC Anywhere I wouldn't need to phone the user and talk them through the steps of installation.
I am having problems as I am based in the UK and we have a New York office with no IT support. It it sometimes very difficult to explain things to users over the phone or carry out essential work when they are all still in bed! :-)
By the way, this is an NT4 domain with Windows 2000 clients, so I cannot use Active Directory.
Thanks for all your help and any suggestions you provide.
