Remote printing Applications W/Win2k TS

By AWJackson ·
I currently have an accounting software on a NT 4 Server, and am accessing it via the net through a Win2k Server using terminal server and a program comparable to citrix, called Tarantella express. I can access and use the accounting software, but can only get it to print to the printer attatched to the server. I need to be able to print to a remote printer, is there any switch i didn't turn on? All help, is truly appreciated.

By default the server should attempt to 'spoof' the printers you have configured on you PC in to the TS session. There are seetings in both the TS Connection manager and User Manager to turn this option off(called Connect Client Printers at Logon).

In addition the server needs to have identical printer drivers, to those installed on your PC, installed so that the printer spoofing can work properly. If the drivers are not installed it will not auto-create the printers for you when you log in.

Hope this helps,

Mike
