Removal of W2K task bar

By dalexander ·
Is there a way to remove the task bar from the desktop? I am working on a project using W2K that controls equipment in a factory environment. The operator needs only to control the equipment and must not be able to access any other part of the system. No tammpering from the operator can be tolerated. The system must be secure. Only the administrator can have access to any changes made to the system. I have been looking into the Group Policy settings but have found nothing. Is this the correct way to approach this?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

If you have no objection to manually configuring the desktop then you can just place the cursor over the top edge of the task bar and wait a couple of seconds. A double vertical arrow should appear. When the arrow appears do drag with the left mouse button and pull the bar down so that it is out of sight. The user will see no bottom bar but when you perform maintenance you reverse this operation and just drag the bar back up.
