    Remove annoying unwanted ringtones

    by dttddt256 ·

    Good morning

Recently my Samsung Galaxy S22 phone emits when I have an unread message, a special ringtone and above all that never stops.
I had just set up a new ringtone that has nothing to do with it and I even added it as a notification sound as well.
I don’t see anything that can manage this completely unknown ringtone on my phone that I’ve had for 1 year…
I even did a search for all possible sound files by searching through Windows Explorer on my PC, on the phone’s storages.

    In:\media\audio\notifications I have my ringtone salsa6.mp3
    and the same in:\media\audio\ringtones

Try going to settings – sounds and vibration – notification sound and finally select the notification sound you want to use instead

I am using a Samsung S23 Ultra with the latest updates.

I hope that helps. Remember, your current ringtone has nothing to do with your text message notification sound. It is a different setting all together.

      Try a few troubleshooting steps

I understand how frustrating it is to deal with the issue of an unknown ringtone playing on your Samsung Galaxy S22. It can be quite annoying, especially when you’ve already set a different ringtone. Let’s try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this for you:

Check the notification settings and make sure the desired ringtone is selected.

Clear the cache and data of the messaging app(s) you’re using.

Give your phone a restart to see if it helps.

Ensure that the messaging app(s) are not overriding the system settings for notification sounds.

Try booting your phone into Safe Mode to see if a third-party app is causing the issue.
