Removing Comments

By vpierce ·
We are not able to remove comments from our Word 2000 documents. The comments were added by numerous people at different times.

Document Control needs to remove them for ISO purposes, but can't.

We have read and followed all the MS KB articles and nothing seems to work.

We need help.

Have you turned off Track Changes? And accepted all changes? or are these inserted comments?

Use ^a in the Replace box. Replace it with nothing.
or use this macro:

Sub DumpComments()
MsgBox "This document contains & _
ActiveDocument.Comments.Count & " Comments."
Selection.Find.ClearFormatting
Selection.Find.Replacement.ClearFormatting
With Selection.Find
.Text = "^a"
.Replacement.Text = ""
End With
Selection.Find.Execute Replace:=wdReplaceAll
End Sub

The MsgBox line is not needed, but the line should read:

MsgBox "This document contains " & _
