Removing exchange server from site

By techgirl75 ·
I am in process of removing the first exchange server from my site. I have rehomed my public folders, but when I look at the public folders resources in Exchange Administrator the old server still shows the folders (sizes, number of messages), and sometimes the new one doesn't. When I look at the properties of the public folders it says home server- is the new server. I want to make sure I have everything done before I delete the old server but this is confusing me. I have read Microsoft's technote for removing first server in an Exchange site, but no luck. I am having RPC 9318 errors like crazy right now and need to get that first server off my site. Thanks!

You hav erehomed but have not removed any replication copies.

In Exchange Admin, expand the server and open the properties of the Public IS, go to the Instances Tab and remove all replication instances from the server.

Once these are removed and all mail accounts have been removed you can delete the server from the site.

Good luck
