Rendering

By chris ·
I am trying to render a flythrough of a house that I built in 3D Max 9. There is a total of 1200 frames although a single frame at 320 240 size is taking hours to render. There is only afew windows and reflective surfaces, so does anyone know of any way I can speed up this render and tell me why its taking so long ?.

More memory, faster processor.

I use several programs like Bryce and Vue. I had the same issue.

The problem with these renders is that they use incredible amounts of computing power.

There are 3 things that will have a direct affect on the process.
1) Power of the CPU. Fast, dual or quad core would be nice.
2) Amount of RAM. LOTS!!!!!
3) Video card. The memory and speed of you card can have some bonus to you as well.

The only other way to do it is to get another server to help out. Bryce has a program called lightning that can allow you to network multiple computers to get that bonus speed. I'm not sure if 3DS has anything like that.

Good luck with the render.
