    Replacing Samsung Galaxy J7 Star

    by computer gary ·

I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 Star I got at a T-Mobile store in Oct ’18. It fell in some water two of days ago, and that seemed to create problems. Right now the biggest problem is that when it’s not hooked up to a power source, when I attempt to play video (You Tube or use VLC for videos saved on a card), the phone powers off and restarts. It had some other problems, not sure if they might still be there (I’ve been home all weekend so I haven’t had the opportunity to use it outside, unhooked to a power source, since Friday).

Anyway, I think the time has come for me to get a new phone. I plan to go to the T-Mobile store where I got this one and see about getting a newer phone.

Of course, I’m grateful for any advice you can give me, but my immediate question is: will I be able to transfer all of my material, apps and data and such, whether it’s on the sim card or in the phone itself, to the new phone? I’m looking to get another Samsung, FWIW.

If you can still make a backup (and you don’t tell about problems doing that) you can get your data off and copy it to your new phone.
I’m sure the shop where you buy your new phone can help you with that, if you don’t know how to do it.
