Resolving Sim Card Reader RS-232 Error During TM SIM Registration

I’m encountering an RS-232 error with my Sim Card Reader while attempting TM SIM registration. The issue arises after connecting the reader to my system, and the device fails to recognize the inserted SIM card. I’ve checked the cable connection and drivers, but the error persists. Has anyone faced a similar problem or found a reliable solution for this? Any advice on troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!

      Only some questions:
      – What device do you connect the reader to? Like a PC with a serial connection, a PS4, an Xbox One?
      – What exactly is the reader? Something from Trustmaster?
      – Any useful information in the user manual?
      – Does the reader work on same device of a friend? It could be a problem with the reader, of with the device you connect it to.
      – What drivers did you check exactly?
      – Any more info about the error (like an error code) than “RS-232 error?

Finally, https://www.google.com/search?q=RS-232+Error might be useful for troubleshooting.

But I can’t offer much without a lot more detail.

So yes to the first question but I can’t offer more.

An RS-232 error is strange in this modern day and age. I used to use that type of cable interface from my computer over 20 years ago. The OP may need a newer SIM card reader if the current one is giving such errors. We don’t know enough about the issue occurring and the equipment being used.

Today, most devices that require a cable to connect to a modern computer use USB and RS-232 is barely hanging on for older devices/computers.
