Restore Exchange

I want to test out my exchange server backup by restoring the information store to a different computer. We are running exchange 2000, windows 2000 server, and using ntbackup. I have a copy of the backup file on the alternate server and I’m ready to start the restore. My question is, will anything get messed up by restoring this way? If my restore is successful, then everyone will have a mailbox on the original exchange server, and the restore exchange server….
