Restoring Outlook icon

By Red Dragoon ·
I'd like to know what registry change or something needs to be made to restore the original Outlook icon to the desktop if someone deleted it.

Follow these directions:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q238567&

That's for Outlook 2000 and below. For Outlook XP, do this:

1. Open the Registry Editor and expand the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Setup.

2. If you're working under Windows 9x or Me, look for the setting DesktopShortcutAsIs. On Windows 2000 and XP systems, look for the value
W2KDesktopShortcutAsIs. Delete the value and close the Registry Editor.

3. Run Setup again to recreate the icon. Insert the Office XP CD into your CD drive and run this command (replace the path to your CD drive as
needed): \SETUP.EXE ADDLOCAL="OUTLOOKNonBootFiles".

Sorry, the above link will not work. Use this one instead:
