Restricting Windows 2000 Pro Users

By paul.savage ·
I have a problem with users installing their own programs on company pc's. I need to restrict them with a policy to tie them down but I am not sure how to do it. The OS we will be using is Windows 2000 Professional.

What you'll be doing is establishing Group Policies for the domain (I assume these PCs are part of a company network).

To set the policies, you'll go to Control Panel-Administrative Tools-System Tools-Group Policy-Computer Configuration-Windows-Security.

One article you may want to review on Technet is Q216735 as it gives a pretty good overview.

Hope this gets you started!
