I have just started working at my current position as mail administrator and we recently had a problem with our message transfer agent going down.
As we were fixing the problem, the Netscape Messaging Server version 3.6 started bouncing back the internet email with the standard error message seen below.
This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:

> Most likely there is a network problem that prevented delivery, but

> Host XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is not responding.

However, under this last line was a list of several email addresses. The last email address was indeed the intended recipient for the email, but the 7-10 listed before it were not intended recipients.
The email did NOT get sent to the people list when the email was back up again, yet the return message makes it look like the original sender tried to send an email to 7-10 people instead of one.
Why is it doing this?
