This article, as it talks about the fairytale land of linux and open source industry, is ridicules. First of all, this hypothetical company should have paid for software licenses before it went around installing anything illegally. Now, I?m not bashing open source. In fact, I think the open source industry has been a great thing for those of us that work in the computer technology field but this article makes it sound like the magic pill to everyone?s Microsoft licensing woes? which it is not. There?s more to supporting OS?s and ?office? applications than ?use open source? it?s free?. There are patch and bug fixes, security, usability, and technical support issues just to name a few. I think this article is nothing more than a vehicle to spark debate. One not worthy of something that should be on Tech republic.
