RIS Setup Question – RED X

by curiousjp . Updated 23 years, 10 months ago

When I attempt to connect using the RIS boot disk, I get this error message:

DHCP………..
No reply from a server.

Background:
Within the DHCP console the RIS server is authorized (by an EA account). Note: DHCP and RIS reside on seperate servers.
In AD the RIS server is configured to respond to client requests.
BINL, SIS Groveler, and the TFTP service are running on my RIS server.
My switch is setup to route both DHCP and Bootp.
I have two RIPrep images loaded and the proper NTFS rights on the answer files.

I have checked the Event logs on our DHCP server and there is no error/success logs for test machine when using the RIS boot disk. The NIC is 3c905C and is a supported NIC.

Q. When the RIS server is authorized in theDHCP console, should there be a green arrow?
I have a red X.

Thanks,
J
