Is HP/UX different from any other flavor of Unix? On AIX you just log in as root, and use the passwd command.

Yep, that's it, log on as root
type- passwd
Change away.

Make sure after your log in and change the passwd that you check it on another terminal or computer before logging out. It will save u in the long run. Always check it out before assuming it works.

The Change root password in HP/UX can be done by passwd command. This is the same command which is used for change of password for any user including root.
