Router killing Lan Speed

by sed55 . Updated 17 years, 1 month ago

I have a network setup and I am not getting the throughput speed that I think i should be getting. This is for my home office, and my ISP is Road Runner. At my DMARC outside, i can hook up my Cable Modem and run speedtest.net and it will register 17+ Mbps. i can bring the setup in, hook up the modem and connect my laptop to the modem and still get 17+ Mbps. When I go through my router (Linksys BEFSR41) I am cut down to roughly 2 Mbps. What can I do to get the throughput through the router to be closer to the line speed without the router?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Dennis
