Router Simulator software

By disco ·
Has anyone actually used router simulation software to prepare for Cisco's CCNP certification, and what software is both accurate and reliable?

I am considering the eVirtual Labs for CCNP but some reviews say it's not as good as the one created for CCNA. Suggestions?

I enrolled in a few official cisco academy classes. Our Instructor gave us this little routerESim supposedly only available for instructors in the academy and it was ok, but does not offer many features that you need in order to practice for the exams. my suggestion is to somehow get a hold of a cisco router. you could probably find one cheap enough on ebay, or take class that offers hands on labs with actual cisco routers, which i did.

by victormjr In reply to Router Simulator software

i am currently using a simulator called router sim v2.0 it has good presentation and an easy to follow lab that is printable,(700 pages worth....eeek!!).i use this simulator to keep in touch with my recent copmletion of a ccna class i just took.it has an array of simmulations to try as well.for example...you can configure switches to gateways or hubs to bridges...ect. i think its a great simulator to use as a study for that ccna test, which i plan to take in the near future!
