RPC over HTTP and Mailbox Move

By steve.bouse ·
We have an 800 user community and are going to implement RPC over HTTP on Exch2003 SP1 Front End Servers (Win2003 SP1 Servers), and Exch2003 on back end servers. Our DCs/GCs will be Win2003 Server, and I have this working in a test lab. Question is that I removed one of the Exch2003 servers (in the lab), and did the Exchange Tasks/Mailbox Move Function to move 2 test mailboxes to the other lab Exchange 2003 server..but when I go back to using the RPC over HTTP..it does not pickup the mailbox move..and you have to open/close Outlook 2003 a bunch of times, and point it to the new server manually. If it is on the network, Outlook 2003 picks up the change, and configures it automatically. How can I get the DCs/GCs/Back End Server to reflect the Mailbox Move when our users are going to be remote..and using the Outlook 2003 Client w/profiles already configured? Thanks. Steve Bouse

If the old server (from) and the new server will be on the same site, then outlook 2003 will automatically re-map it self to the right server.

In the lab, how many domain controllers do you have and is DNS/browsing functioning right?

sad to say, server 2003 still uses browsing.
