Rules Wizard & TechRepublic HTML Format

By IronEagle ·
Has anyone else had this problem?

I have signed up for a number of TechRepublic E-Mails, and receive them in HTML format. Which is how I want to get them, but Outlook Rules Wizard (Outlook XP) won't move them to another folder. I have individual folders set up for each different type of e-mail.

I have tried by sender name, but it moves the current e-mail, but none that I receive after the rule is set up (it is turned on) I have tried by "contained in sender name" still no go - not evenfor the curent e-mail.

Any ideas would be great. Especially if it works. Cheers.

What does the rule check as the first thing? Once of the first things should be "check message after it arrives", then after that it should check the sender. A mistake I see is where people have checking the sender first in the rule ("move new messages from someone").

Rules Wizard ->Apply this rule after the message arrives->from people or distribution list (then click on people and put in the sender)

HTH

Sorry, this didn't help much. It is checking mail as it arrives.

I set all my rules to filter for patterns in the email header and it works well. Look through the headers for common strings, like a certain IP or mail server name and try filtering by that. Even partial strings work. It may take some experimenting but it may do what you want. Works great for spam too.
