Can someone tell me how i can run an .exe file as service in NT 4.0

Hi,
this is not possible for normal exe's.
Only Programms and dll's, that are designed as a service can be run as a service...

You can run srvinstw.exe from the NT resource kit select install service then local machine. Name the service, then as the path to the executable direct it to Srvany.exe found in the resource kit dir. Select service its its own process and system account on the following screen. Choose Auto or manual.

You will have to edit the registry Hkey_Local_Machine\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\"service you created"
and add Keys such as AppDirectory - Where the .exe resides; Application - the full path to the .exe and AppParameters - ? to describe for example which CPU to run from.
