Running Norton Disk Doctor in XP

When I try to run Norton Disk Doctor in XP Professional with the fix errors box checked it will not run. It shows an error that says The operating system, or another process currently has exclusive access to this drive, or some of its files. How do you make it work and what files or processes is it talking about?
