Runtime App won't run on Access PC

By bpahlow ·
User createda runtime app for her department. All (who don't have MS Access) can use it except one person who gets a missing .dll error when he tries to run it. This one person actually has MS Access 97 installed. We got around it by creating an icon for him that points to the application (MS Access 97) first and then to the database, but were wondering why he has to go in this 'special' way.

Runtime App won't run on Access PC

From the Knowledge Base:
"Installing a Microsoft Access 97 run-time application on a computer that is
already running Microsoft Access 7.0 associates the .mdb files, the .mda files,
and the wizards with the Microsoft Access 97 run-time executablefile. After you
have started the run-time application at least once, double-clicking an .mdb
file results in the operating system attempting to open that file with the
run-time executable instead of with Microsoft Access 7.0."
