Locked

Runtime Error

By harveyh ·
I have a windows 98 system. When exiting Internet explorer I get the following error.
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime error
Program: C:\Windows\Explorer.exe
R6025 Pure Vitrual Function Call
If I answer ok the desktop disapears and leaves me with the background and a locked system. I have to reboot to get things working and then the system stalls occasionly for 10 - 15 seconds.
What is wrong??

If you haven't done so already, update the operating system service pack. This usually fixes the runtime errors. Go to Microsofts site for more updates or check the knowledge base for runtime error messages.

After much tweeking of the system I found a software product that installs itself. I belive it was called Direct Exchange or something to that extent. It was deposited while someone was looking at XXX sites. I have had a talk with that someone, deleted all questionable software, and tighted up security on the PC. Thanks for your help.
