I have a marvellous Scrabble game (named “Scramble” perhaps for copyright reasons) which is a DOS program written in 1991. I copied it from an old 286 or 386 computer which someone gave me.
It is a wickedly clever game, and I am lucky if I win one time out of 20. HOWEVER it will not run on a computer with CPU greater than 33 MHz. Instead it fails to load, giving a message “Runtime error.”
I would like to know what “Runtime error” means and if there is any way of getting this program to run on a faster computer.
