Runtime Error

I am trying to install a software program an am getting Run-time error '53' File not found. Need advice on how to fix this.

you fix it by finding the file!
But seriously, we'll need a little more info than that. What program are you trying to install, to what OS. Are you installing with admin priviliges?

One thing you could try, use filemon from while you run the install. Somewhere you'll see a reference to the file it can not find.

The software that I'm trying to install is from Course Technology. It has demos and data files from HelpTrac that I need for an assignment that I have to do for one of my classes. I'm running WIN XP and yes, I have admin rights.

Download and install Windows Installer 3.1 and try again.

Something else that might help is turn off "error reporting", it may run with that off. So many BAD programs and Web Sites, i turn it off 1st thing when I set up a new computer.

Right Mouse "My computer"/Properties/Advanced/Error Reporting/ and check the "Disable Error Reporting" and leave "But notify me when a critical error occurs" checked.
