S Video with Windows and a TV

by johnjackson1132 . Updated 19 years, 9 months ago

Alright…so we’re promoting this new PACOS/Satelite System, which I have been put in charge of teaching to other people. I have created a PP presentation, listing every aspect…the computer I have, has S-Video, and has been used before to connect to the TV.

After running all the wires, everything works fine hardware wise…the TV and Computer screen work, and for the most part you can see my desktop on the TV…the problem.

You can only see part of the desktop, and yes I know TV resolutions are not nearly as high as a PCs video card. My video card can do both, the primary runs at 1280×1024…and the secondary is running at 640×800, which the TV screen supports.

The problem is…when I click on second monitor (witin visual properties of windows, via Right Click, Properties, Settings), the one that links to TV…My desktop shows up, but no menu, icons etc…I do this via “Extend my desktop to this monitor”…The only way to get my entire screen on there is to set it as my primary monitor, not a problem…except..

I can’t view what I am doing on my monitor and the TV is out in the Drivers Lounge! Even by using the hot key with the blank screen, (F5) to start the show automatically, the PP presentation, shows up on my monitor!

Then I have to have somone on a cellular, tell me where I am at so I can set the monitor back up on my PC…and yes I thought about using RDP to access it, the only problem…the PC on which I am using was installed with Windows Home :(. I know its a simple setting, something I am missing. Any help greatly appreciated!!

Thank You,
Michael.
