TR covers salary news

by jmottl In reply to Salaries

Hi,
TechRepublic always covers the latest salary info -- here's the newest article
http://techrepublic.com.com/5100-6299-5151903-1-1.html

The article provides a link to Janco, which conducts the salary surves each year and does a good job at zeroing in on locations and job titles.

I just went to salary.com for kicks and was evaluated at:

$127,300 Salary Level

Man!! Sign me up!

Now just gotta find the job that goes with that.

For any range

Someone has to be at the top, and someone at the bottom.

At one of my previous employers, they knew they couldn't compete with the top employers. So they set about to place themselves as a 50th percentile payer. Every year they would buy an IT salary guide, do a comparison, and if someone was dramatically under the 50% percentile in the guide, then they would get an adjustment. There were also bonsuses/adjustments if there were scarce skills sets that needed retaining.

Think about it. Half the doctors graduated in the bottom half of their class.
