SATA problem

by cesar-1777 . Updated 17 years, 1 month ago

Hello,

I?ve installed a second SATA disk on my PC. When I turn on my computer for the first time in the morning, the Windows XP SO doesn?t see this new disk. I have to reboot the PC and then the Windows XP can see the disk.

I have an asus p5b motherboard. I?ve installed the SATA drivers and I?ve switched the ADVANCE – ONBOARD DEV. CONF. – JMICRON SATA CONTROLLER MODE from IDE to AHCI. But I have the same problem.

I tried to switch the MAIN – CONFIGURE SATA AS parameter from IDE to AHCI but then, the Windows didn?t boot.

Does anybody know which can be the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
